To close the connection I am running;   ifconfig ppp0 down killall -INT pppd   I am leaving the modem_run and firmware loaded. When making another call the tunnel is re-used and on some occasions an incorrect IP address is returned from the Home Gateway.   Does anyone know if the driver correctly posts a disconnect before exiting? or is there something wrong with my disconnect script? My first guess would be that the "ifconfig ppp0 down" could be preventing pppd from sending the appropriate disconnect protocol. You don't need the ifconfig - pppd will do that for you once it has finished with the link.   Try "killall pppd" without the ifconfig and without the -INT. Cheers, Tony
