I have tried it out:
before the adsl.sh stop command, fuser -m /proc/bus/usb shows 4 processes running

after the adsl.sh stop command, there is one proces left
after killall modem_run, no more processes left

unfortunately, when I performed then the halt command, the system "hung" again
and an unclean umount of my linux partition was the result . Do you have any
further suggestions to solve this annoying problem?

Hugo
