I don't have an install of SUSE to hand to know whether it provides "automatic" installation for the Speedtouch, however another Linux distribution, Mandrake Linux, comes with support for the Speedtouch modem.
If you aren't confident about using a Linux system it may be wise to try using the Mandrake distro before trying to manually install. (you still need copy the modem firmware to the appropriate place, but at least most of the configuration is handled by a wizard). www.mandrake-linux.com All the best, Tim.
