Hi, thanks for the speedy reply! I can't boot into linux right now or the net connection will go down for another house-occupant... but the peers file I am using is straight out of the Howto (CVS). I compiled kernel with all the correct options, as in Howto etc.

Your problem is between pppoa and pppd, I'm guessing a config thing. Could you show us your peer file (without password!) and possibly run the pppd syslog again with the debug flag set in your config file. If this is a custom kernel, you did eneable ppp support? Alex.
