I think he wanted your to play with the IRC settings so that you're sure
your USB adapter DOES get an IRQ, and does not share it.

hmm, on my computer it only reports the ppp0 downing, but the error
message hotplug generates are kind of weird.. it's just like nothing
worked, even when it works...

I'm not that sure.. installing or removing hotplug didn't change
anything on my problems, but it may for you, just try... ;)
