Yep - I realised about not being able to re-run modem_run, but just added that I'd tried that as well as just ppp. I'll download some other versions of both modem_run and pppoa? and have another go tonight. I only just saw that it's on sourceforge with actively developed code. As for the auto-startup - if I attempted to start it in rc.d, then for that boot I wouldn't be able to start adsl manually. By that I mean that to get adsl working again, I'd have to first disable it from rc.d then reboot. As i just answered to someone, you can't run modem_run if you already launched it. Modem is already initialized and won't accept that you try to init it again. Just launching ppp should be enought.
