Have you tried looking at the log file ie cat /var/log/messages. This contains info about the negotiation between your box and the isp during initiation of the connection. For instance you may find words to the effect 'authentication failed' etc. in which case check username and password in chap-secrets etc. Greg (Just got my adsl going in last couple of days!)
