And why you don't try (mandrake control center)mcc>internet connection>expert mode>adsl connection>speedtouch? For me mandrake 9.0 supports very well adsl speedtouch usb. You only need download mgmt tarball archive file from alactel website and copy after the internet connection configuration the extracted file mgmt.o on /usr/share/speedtouch and reboot your computer.
