It is kind of my fault: I fixed a bug in the kernel, and the bug fix now makes visible a flaw in the modem_run program. modem_run releases an interface on which it submitted an urb without retiring the urb first. It used to be able to get away with this. But now the kernel cancels the urb automatically. When modem_run sees that the urb has been cancelled it prints out "Error reading interrupts" and then resubmits the urb. That is the reason for the next message: > Dec 9 20:45:33 localhost kernel: usbfs: process 433 (modem_run) did not > claim interface 0 before use When modem_run submits the urb, it has not claimed the interface (it just released the interface, remember), and the kernel kindly claims it automatically, but prints this warning message. Anyway, it is all harmless. > but calling pppd call adsl is OK. > May i use the latest cvs version of modem_run ? I don't think that will make any difference. I submitted a patch that makes modem_run shut up about this stuff, but I don't think it got in. In any case, these messages are harmless. All the best, Duncan.
