Hi all, I've done setup of speedtouch modem under RedHat 7 (Linux version 2.4.18-27.7.x.cc - Red Hat Linux 7.3 2.96-113) I'm using as a gateway, so I have an eth0 connection for my local network.
Everything is working fine, including the automatic reconnection when the provider release the IP. My problem is: sometimes, something somewere is lost : - ifconfig return that there still have an IP on the ppp0 connection. - I still can ping this address (including from my internal network). -> but nothing reply when I ping outside. I precise again that it isn't due to the time out of IP lease: if I use only for my mails and little browsing, the connection can stay up indefinitely. Of course I check all log files located in /var/log, please believe me, I can't find any error message. I'm very happy 'coz now I can reproduce the problem: when I try to download http://www.heren5.org/download/filmpjes/2.mpeg, it's always crash after 1 minute. What can I do ? Without any error message, it's very hard to understand. I try also running manually modem_run -v 2, but even in this case, no error can be found in logs. It's very strange, like if the connection drop not on my side but on provider side? I'm in Belgium, using belgacon skynet connection, and any idea can be usefull.
