Hi everyone! I'm currently experiencing major latency problems with my setup. I have a VIA Technologies UHCI USB controller with a purple SpeedTouch 330 (common variety). I'm using the userspace speedtouch-1.2beta2 drivers with the MacOS SpeedTouchUSB.pax firmware. I can connect and browse OK, but whenever high bandwidth transfers take place the connection slows down horrendously, debilitating low bandwidth transfers as well.
I'm currently away from the system ATM, so I can only speculate, but this sounds suspiciously like a latency problem based on the use of the pty character shunt of pppd. Is there a way to speed things up without using the kernelspace drivers (which I can use quite easily anyway)?
