The kernel version is 2.4.20 according to the box, and the driver is
speedtouch_CVS_19_11_02_patched

Don't know if this is the bleeding edge version - but it's pretty recent.

Everything compiled and installed OK, so I don't understand why I get the
error message.  On the other hand I don't understand anything about the
technology anyway, so it's perhaps not that surprising.
