What are you referring to? | |Duncan. | | I'm refering on my tests. I made a small Tcp-ip lan @ home, 4 clients and 3 servers. I tried 2 gateways : One WindowsXp and one Debian Woody RC2. I use the same firmware on both computers, and, with about the same noise on the line, your drivers resync faster than Thomson's, even the clients on the networks don't "realise" they are disconnected for a short time when it looses sync. with the local atm server. Another problem i had with Thomson's : if i looses the sync. , either i reboot my computer, or i unplug/plug the modem, or it won't sync properly.(even with the Windows module to unplug safely usb) On the Debian Box, i don't have to take care about loosing sync, since it seems your driver monitors the line(not sure @ all) and resync itself when connection is lost.(cf: right led blinking on the Modem (Alcatel SpeedTouch Usb) with no more tcp-ip connection avalaible for a few seconds) ~From times to time, i have to unload modem_run, rmod usb, then modprobe usb and launch modem_run again. That's the only valid restart script i found until now to reset the (atm) connection.
As i dunno really much about atm, everything is based on empiric rules i made, maybe wrong. If you want me to test anything else, i'm at your service.(Former C/C++ Programmer/Analyst, i'm not completly N00b) Daedelus. -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.3 (MingW32) Comment: Using GnuPG with Thunderbird - http://enigmail.mozdev.org iD8DBQFAArfZdachZ/d+DTkRAvgnAJwKKTWaFfwvOMN9QmyLer2LMfao8wCdEibZ 6Tcm2OO7MgA/hehP/eCUqGA= =JqVh -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- Liste de diffusion modem ALCATEL SpeedTouch USB Pour se dsinscrire : mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]
