Thank you for at least replying Duncan. I have been looking for help everywhere with no luck. The user drivers did not work for me. I turned on what they needed in the kernel, followed the howto step by step and it would not connect at all. It gave me that bulk error as well, but I'm sure thats normal. It then went on to attempt a connection, everything went well it seemed....but then it disconnected for no apparent reason. I'll try that command and tell you what it says (I'm at college now and I can't).
Could you tell me a few things? In your pap-secrets and your options file, what is your username? Should it be b1xxxxxx @ sympatico.ca? Also, is it supposed to be PPPoE or PPPoA? According to my Alcatel manager in windows, it says it is using ATM with RFC bridging.....which causes trhe access manager to think it's PPPoE. Also, would having both PPP over Ethernet/RFC bridging enabled along side with PPP over ATM( experimental) do any harm? That's whats enabled right now. Then again, speedbundle won't run unless ATM is enabled so I guess it doesn't matter. Another thing I tried is the speedtouch script which automates the user driver process. It didn't work either. One last thing; How do I know which brand of modem I have? No windows driver or label wants to tell me. The modem just says: "Alcatel Speedtouch USB" and it look like the stingray one on the user driver page only it is a blackish-gray colour. Is this the 330? I'm not entirely sure.... ************************************************************** If PPPoE does not work with speedbundle....that means I can't use the speedbundle at all? So then the user mode drivers are my only choice? Well...how do I fix this mess now? I don't know what to disable to fix what the speedbundle did. I think I need to kill what hotplugging does at startup and I need to reinstall the user mode one then. My god this all so annoying....not to sound too wierd, but does anyone here (who has gotten this to work) have msn/icq/aim/yahoo/irc?
