Hi, I have a lot of problems with SpeedTouch and Linux.
I have a 2.4.25 kernel in a Debian Testing distribution, and to configure
the modem I used a script found via http://speedtouchconf.sourceforge.net
created by a certain Steve Parker.
With the 2.4.18 kernel it worked perfectly and the modem started on the
system' startup; now, in 2.4.25, it says "starting ADSL connection: failed"
The strange thing is that it works if I configure the script manually every
time I start my linux system; it regularly works! But if, without
configuring it, I type: /etc/init.d/speedtouch start, the same message
generates: starting ADSL connection: failed.
I suppose it's an init problem, not a kernel problem.

And, other thing: as I am a complete Linux newbie, could someone help me? I
have a 2.6 kernel compiled too, but that speedtouchconf.sh script does not
work any longer! I think I should modify it somehow, but I do not know how!
Has someone already tested speedtouch with 2.6? I got 2.6.3 kernel.
bye and thanks 4 all
For French speaking: my nickname is pronounced in the English way, as it
was written "Joyce".
