Thanks, Duncan.
 All commands were copy/pasted from ‘The Linux Kernel SpeedTouch Driver for
Ubuntu Hoary Hedgehog’ document. I copied the files using the command:
cp –r /media/floppy/* . && chmod +x firmware-extractor.

To install libatm, I used the command:
sudo alien –i libatm* (and got the response: ‘File libatm* not found’).

To install the firmware (Rev 4 modem), I used the command:
unzip SpeedTouch330_firmware_3012.zip && ./firmware-extractor ZZZL_3.012
(and got the response:
‘unzip: cannot find or open SpeedTouch330_firmware_3012.zip,
SpeedTouch330_firmware_3012.zip.zip or SpeedTouch330_firmware_3012.zip.ZIP’

I tried both the latter two ‘installation’ commands both as user
([EMAIL PROTECTED]) and root ([EMAIL PROTECTED]).

HTHYTHM (hope this helps you to help me!

Thanks again.

Best

Fred

Hi Fred,

How did you copy the files? (Please paste the exact command you used
into your email).

> But, when I tried to install libatm, I got the response:

What command did you use to install libatm? (Please paste the exact
command). Which directory were you in when you did this (the command
"pwd" will tell you which directory you are in).

What command did you use exactly (please paste it). What directory
were you in?
