Thanks, Duncan. All commands were copy/pasted from ‘The Linux Kernel SpeedTouch Driver for Ubuntu Hoary Hedgehog’ document. I copied the files using the command: cp –r /media/floppy/* . && chmod +x firmware-extractor.
To install libatm, I used the command: sudo alien –i libatm* (and got the response: ‘File libatm* not found’). To install the firmware (Rev 4 modem), I used the command: unzip SpeedTouch330_firmware_3012.zip && ./firmware-extractor ZZZL_3.012 (and got the response: ‘unzip: cannot find or open SpeedTouch330_firmware_3012.zip, SpeedTouch330_firmware_3012.zip.zip or SpeedTouch330_firmware_3012.zip.ZIP’ I tried both the latter two ‘installation’ commands both as user ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) and root ([EMAIL PROTECTED]). HTHYTHM (hope this helps you to help me! Thanks again.
