You may (but you don't have to) use those nameservers, however, probably they will be the fastest ones (for you) because it's very likely that they are located somewhere in your isp's network to which you are conntected anyway. So, you can simply make a symbolic link to it: ln -s /etc/ppp/resolv.conf /etc/resolv.conf . If you don't want to use those nameservers simply add nameserver addresses of your choice to /etc/resolv.conf.
