Hm sorry buddy, seems to be a different sort of problem from mine I think, because my connection does get authenticated, and can be connected for hours until I do some intense activity like download a large file, where it will then stall. Also, I had the exact same modem/ISP working in Linux perfectly. Which is why I think it may be a OpenBSD/pppoa/ppp type problem.
Also I noticed it's 'ppp' instead of a ppp daemon.. I've not read up about that yet so tomorrow when I get some free time i'll learn about it and maybe try upgrading ppp, to see if that makes any difference. If anyone else has any ideas i'd love to hear them, otherwise it looks like i'm gonna try FreeBSD instead :-/ cheers, -s Gilles Espinasse wrote: >----- Original Message ----- >From: "shev" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> >To: <[email protected]> >Sent: Saturday, July 09, 2005 1:07 AM >Subject: [speedtouch] IPCP not open - packet dropped > > > > >>Hi guys, >> >>I recently changed my gateway machine from Gentoo to OpenBSD, and i'm >>having a little problem with my modem/inet connection. >> >>At first, I thought it was working perfectly, until I tried to download >>a large file and noticed that the connection stalled.
