Nothing out of the ordinary happens at all in dmesg. I'm running both
modem_run and pppoa at verbose level 2.

/var/log/messages shows this around the time of the connection being
dropped:
Aug 20 12:21:29 funkee pppoa3[375]: write_dest: 1 ENOBUFS errors
Aug 20 12:21:29 funkee pppoa3[375]: write_dest: 2 ENOBUFS errors
Aug 20 12:21:29 funkee pppoa3[375]: write_dest: 3 ENOBUFS errors
Aug 20 12:21:29 funkee pppoa3[375]: write_dest: 4 ENOBUFS errors
Aug 20 12:22:34 funkee pppoa3[375]: write_dest: 5 ENOBUFS errors
Aug 20 12:22:34 funkee pppoa3[375]: write_dest: 6 ENOBUFS errors
Aug 20 12:22:41 funkee pppoa3[375]: write_dest: 7 ENOBUFS errors
Aug 20 12:22:47 funkee pppoa3[375]: write_dest: 8 ENOBUFS errors
Aug 20 12:22:47 funkee pppoa3[375]: write_dest: 9 ENOBUFS errors

And some noteworthy happenings in /var/log/ppp.log (upon startup and not
when the connection is dropped):
Aug 20 13:24:18 funkee ppp[371]: tun0: Phase: Unknown protocol 0x0077
(unrecognised protocol)
Aug 20 13:24:18 funkee ppp[371]: tun0: Warning: ipv4_Input: IPCP not
open - packet dropped
Aug 20 13:24:24 funkee ppp[371]: tun0: Phase: deflink: IPV6CP protocol
reject closes IPV6CP !
Aug 20 13:25:21 funkee ppp[371]: tun0: Phase: deflink: HDLC errors ->
FCS: 0, ADDR: 0, COMD: 0, PROTO: 1

Hope this helps. Like I said, I would be grateful to see someones
FreeBSD setup, just to double check i've done everything right.

Cheers
