Hello.

I´m using Mandriva 2006 x86_64 version, and I tried setting up my
SpeedTouch 330 (silver) modem, using the instructions on the Mandriva
section.
However, I have a problem...

When I type "pppd call speedtch", this message appears:

> Feb 16 13:20:08 localhost pppd[3962]: Plugin rp-pppoe.so loaded.
> Feb 16 13:20:08 localhost pppd[3962]: RP-PPPoE plugin version 3.3
> compiled against pppd 2.4.3
> Feb 16 13:20:08 localhost pppd[3962]: In file /etc/ppp/peers/speedtch:
> unrecognized option 'nas0'
The connection does not start, however, the modem lights blink, the
firmware is loaded, and the line
is syncronized:

> Feb 16 13:17:32 localhost kernel: ADSL line is up (2048 Kib/s down |
> 128 Kib/s up)
There´s also this error message, that I think it is related to br2684ctl:

> Feb 16 13:17:33 localhost dial: br2684ctl: error while loading shared
> libraries: libatm.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file
> or directory
> Feb 16 13:17:36 localhost dial: SIOCSIFADDR: No such device
> Feb 16 13:17:36 localhost dial: nas0: unknown interface: No such device
> Feb 16 13:17:36 localhost dial: SIOCSIFNETMASK: No such device
> Feb 16 13:17:36 localhost dial: SIOCGIFADDR: No such device
> Feb 16 13:17:36 localhost dial: SIOCSIFBROADCAST: No such device
I installed liblinux-atm (x86_64 version is, I believe, lib64linux-atm),
ppp-pppoatm and ppp-pppoe following the instructions.
I also want to say that I use the instructions in Mandriva 2006 x86
(normal version),
without any problems, and the modem does work. It isn´t working in the
x86_64 version.

If you want, I can post my /var/log/messages file...

Can you help?

Thank you.

Claudio
