I have reinstalled linux 10.0 completely and I have followed
http://www.linux-usb.org/SpeedTouch/suse/index.html as recommended

I however still have problems:
every time I log in, linux hasn't made an internet connection: so I type:
pppd call speedtch
once again he says that nas0, is not created. I create the interface nas0 by
typing: br2684ctl -b -c 0 -a 8.35
and then I received this message:
"Jun 3 11:46:11 linux pppd[6869]: Plugin rp-pppoe.so loaded.
Jun 3 11:46:11 linux pppd[6869]: RP-PPPoE plugin version 3.3 compiled
against pppd 2.4.3
Jun 3 11:46:11 linux pppd[6869]: pppd 2.4.3 started by root, uid 0
Jun 3 11:46:11 linux pppd[6869]: send (sendPacket)"

and still there is not an internet connection (tried with ping and firefox)

I am however not sure how the chap-secrets or pap-secrets look, that is why
I posted an example, like I made it:
http://studwww.ugent.be/~frvrtrie/Linux/chap-secrets.txt or
http://studwww.ugent.be/~frvrtrie/Linux/chap-secrets
and here are the messages when I started the pc:
http://studwww.ugent.be/~frvrtrie/Linux/Messages.txt

Note: this internet connection is rather slow to real slow (1,1Mbps is max)
due to problems with my isp. Makes this a difference? It is a fact that my
modem needs a longer synchronisation time.
since I started the pc, the right LED-light blinked about 70-80 times
