I re-read your email, and read the web-pages this time :) I see that the suse page firmware-extractor links to an executable file, not a compressed file. Perhaps by downloading with the .txt extension the file was confused with a text-file, stripping out essential binary info. > Ive manged to overcome this problem by downloading the c source code of the > firmware, > and compiled it. Have a look in your system logs for messages from the modem. Doing this should get the essential messages: dmesg | grep speed > I suspect > that the second binary file is to blame (br2684ctl). Can anyone please tell > me where can > I download from the c source code for br2684ctl, so I can compile it. The br2684ctl link on the suse page points directly to an executable. So you may have had the same downloading problem as for firmware-extractor. I've attached the source to br2684ctl (this is the debian version). It looks like you need the libatm development libraries to compile it though. I've also attached the binary from the web-page. I hope this helps, Duncan. -- Binary/unsupported file stripped by Listar -- -- Type: text/x-csrc -- File: br2684ctl.c -- Binary/unsupported file stripped by Listar -- -- Type: text/x-makefile -- File: Makefile -- Binary/unsupported file stripped by Listar -- -- Type: application/x-executable -- File: br2684ctl Liste de diffusion modem ALCATEL SpeedTouch USB Pour se désinscrire : mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]
