Hi all How do I know if the driver for the usb modem was installed correctly, lsusb?, is their other way??

Secondly you need to type exactly what is written, why did you suppress ./ before firmware-extractor? As the place you put the files is certainly not in the PATH, forgetting ./ make the system answer with command not found.
