Hello.

First of all I would like to say that I'm a complete newbie at linux.
Actually,
I just installed it about three hours ago. I'm using the lastest Ubuntu (
7.04) and
I'm trying to config the modem.

My modem is the green old one. I believe it's revision 0. It is connected
in
a USB port and I have a HUB connected to a PCI ethernet adapter (so everyone

in my house can use the internet).

The instruction I've been following are at this site: . I did everything
conform
it was saying but, unfortunetely, I can't get it to work. As the author, my
modem
is temperamen tal, so I tried using both drivers he recomends (KQD6_3.012
and
mgmt.o). Also, I've tried to use the firmware-extractor in the windows(?)
driver
(alcaudsl.sys), but it doesn't split the file.

When I boot the computer, both LED's keep green and don't blink at
anytime.
>From what I've been reading, it might be a driver problem, right?

My ISP settings: VPI - 1, VCI - 32, PPPOE.

This is what I found at the logs that might be useful:

  [ 22.276305] hub 1-0:1.0: USB hub found (*** The hub isn't USB ***)
[ 40.018838] usbcore: registered new interface driver speedtch
  [ 40.121293] speedtch 1-2:1.0: found stage 1 firmware speedtch-1.bin
  [ 40.305902] speedtch 1-2:1.0: found stage 2 firmware speedtch-2.bin

Couldn't find any line about pppd.

Now, should I follow other method to install the modem? Will I need to
undo
anything?

  Thank's,
  Felipe KW.
