In an attempt to handle more of the council business on the council mailing
list instead of during IRC-based meetings, I'll do my part and give a
report on the status of the overdue website transition.
The current status is still the one described at:
http://archives.listbox.com/1996/200606/0026.html
Behind the scenes, however, a bit of progress has been made. I have been
silently working on Mail::SPF, the successor of Mail::SPF::Query.
Mail::SPF is supposed to, among other things, serve as the basis for the
new website's "Why did SPF cause my mail to be rejected?" page and the new
record wizard. I expect it will take at least 4 more weeks before a first
solid release of Mail::SPF can be made, as I'm somewhat busy with real
life issues at the moment.
As far as I can see, no progress has been made on the other outstanding
pages that are yet to be transitioned to the new site. At least the
essentials need to be finished before the old site can be moved to http://
old.openspf.org and the new site can be moved to http://www.openspf.org.
What are the outstanding essentials?
Anyone with write access to the website can do that, by the way. If you
have 30 minutes, pick one of the "executive summary", "media inquiries"
We have contact form and I would propose that media inquiries go through
there as well. I think Stuart was working on summary, right?
,
and "contributors" items, overhaul the old content a bit, and add it to a
corresponding new or existing page on the new website as proposed in the
spf-webmasters status mail referred from above. Thank you.
