I just spent too many minutes trying to figure out why a document was not rendering the way I expected it to (or that it would render with rst2html) and finally found this small note:
"Note that Sphinx disables the use of enumerated lists introduced by alphabetic or roman numerals" At the very least it might help if it were promoted to a real .. note::. I think it should at least explain why they were disabled. Why were they disabled?
