Great! Welcome to Sphinx :)

I'm not sure, however, if Django is the best choice here.  There's
relatively little stuff in terms of what Django makes easy to write,
IMHO.

I had in mind for contributors to directly be able to edit
the text of the page and, depending on developer status,
submit a diff or commit the change directly.

That is a very good idea (considering that e.g. Python will perhaps
also move away from SVN in the future).
