Hi there. I'd like to ask about customizing text output (created by using -b
text). This was brought up while researching line feeds that were created
during this process which is UNIX friendly, but not Windows friendly. I would
like a way to customize it. A colleague of mine created a patch to make the
line feeds OS specific [1], but that also isn't optimal (what if I, on a
Windows machine, wanted to create text files with UNIX line feeds?) And this
got me thinking that there is probably a need for customizing the text output
via some sort of templating system. It doesn't appear that this is possible.

In response to the question "what else would you want to customize?", underline
character for headers is the most obvious thing that comes to mind, but I can
foresee others wanting to do different things, and so we should make that
possible.

Does anyone have any thoughts? Should I open up an improvement ticket
somewhere?
