Thanks for the suggestion. In fact I had noticed PyLit before;
however, its author recognizes that

definitions. Some call this semi-literate programming."
I wanted to combine the power of noweb --that allows arbitrary
rearrangement of named code chunks-- with Sphinx's ability to generate
nicely formatted and easily navigable docs. And this is a sample of
what I've done:

There's still some work to do, but the result looks promising. I'll
keep posting on this subject, and probably ask for some help too :-)
BTW, I've already solved the file splitting issue, in a way that is
satisfactory at least in the context of my project.
