I create three output formats with make clean latexpdf epub html In the html run the file myproject.pdf is copied from _build/latex/ to _build/html/_download/ But the file is renamed to myproject1.pdf and the link in the html-source points to myproject1.pdf while in the rst source file I have myproject.pdf.
