I'm using sphinx for user documentation and every time I make a change to the text on the page new copies of the images on those pages are created with an incrementing value appended to the end of the image. I don't know why this was done, but for my uses this is pointless and space wasting.
I've identified in the sphinx code base where the image copying is taking place and have managed to eliminate behaviour, but I am having trouble identifying where the images links are written in the html output to fix the problem there too.
