Hi, thanks,

I put my reply online at
http://friedrichromstedt.github.com/lists1.html, because this allows
for demonstration as well as code listing etc. pp. Please read it
there.

A few comments to the solution, if it exists:

1. I do like the differentiation between compact and non-compact
lists and don't wanna loose it.

2. I believe a solution should not require configuring variables
which are not listed in the file by default + possibly css tweaking.
It should just work out of the box. So I will not accept workarounds
other than for my personal use. And the workaround proposed I do not
like because I want to keep compact/non-compact lists differentiation.

If Georg or some other developer of Sphinx does not reply, I believe
there will be no avail other than diving into the code; unfortunately
I believe I don't have time for yet another project :-(

So Georg et al., please help! But as I said, the issue is not
serious. It's rather cosmetic.

Friedrich
