Hello all --

I am researching documentation systems for a system that will be
fairly modular in nature and be the basis for a developer portal. The
portal will document lots of extensions and file formats to support,
and require multiple developers and technical managers to
collaboratively edit the docs over time. I'm looking for something
lightweight that supports documentation needs for scientific software,
mainly literature citations, in-line math, scientific charts (e.g.
from matplotlib), solid support for indexes, and ability to target
multiple output formats. Sphinx looks like a nice option for all of
these.

However, we would like the documentation to also have some level of
community features, at the very least (a) user comments and (b) per
topic (or chapter or whatever) feeds to allow developers to monitor
for updates to the docs (or to a section of the docs they are
interested in). My read of the Sphinx documentation suggests is that
this doesn't exist for Sphinx proper.

Has anyone used Sphinx for a site with such integrated community
features, e.g. a fork or extensions that integrate with Disqus or
something similar?

Thanks,

Ramon
