Hi Nicola,

_build/locale is the directory where "make gettext" builds the
POT-files. You don't need to version these files as they are built
always from your source.

With sphinx-intl you can create PO files for each language you will
provide. Look at the configuration variable locale_dirs. This is the
folder where sphinx-intl writes the PO files.

I have:

      locale_dirs = ['./locale']

so they are in the projects root directory, where I can put them under
version control.

Then you can write all your PO files with this command to this directory:

        sphinx-intl update -l xy -p _build/locale

Where xy is a language short cut (en, de, fr, it).

Now you can start your translation versioning these files.
