And I heard the xhtml writer development has been started. http://sourceforge.net/p/docutils/code/HEAD/tree/trunk/docutils/docutils/writers/xhtml11/ Although, I think we need more time to develop stable EPUB3 writer then I can't say when we will provide the feature.
