Hi,

At preamble part, The "@" sign is not expanded.
Please use \makeatletter before that like following:
    'preamble': r'''
       \makeatletter
       \renewcommand{\maketitle}{
         \begin{titlepage}
         \noindent \Huge \@date \par
         \end{titlepage}
       }
       \makeatother''',
