This is a notice of the upcoming election for the SPI Board of Directors. The Directors are the lifeblood of the organization and are responsible for the smooth running of the affairs and business of SPI. This year there are five (5) vacant positions due to expiring appointments, with no known resignations:
(1) Secretary (2) Vice President (3) Treasurer (4) Director (5) Director Elections are governed by SPI Resolution 2004-08-10.dbg.2 ( https://www.spi-inc.org/corporate/resolutions/2004/2004-08-10.dbg.2/). Please contact secretary(at)spi-inc(dot)org if you would like to nominate yourself for this important position. The ideal candidate will have an existing involvement in the Free and Open Source community, though this need not be with an SPI-affiliated project. Please direct any questions about SPI board membership to the spi-general mailing list, or to #spi on irc.spi-inc.org (OFTC), before the formal nomination period closes. The formal nomination period will open on Tuesday, July 10th and run for 12 days. If required, an election will occur via secret ballot of SPI contributing members. This schedule will be used: * Thursday July 10th 2025 00:00 UTC - Nomination period opens * Monday July 21st 2025 23:59 UTC - Nomination period closes * Wednesday July 23rd 2025 00:00 UTC - Voting commences * Thursday Aug. 7th 2025 23:59 UTC - Voting closes * Friday Aug. 8th 2025 00:00 UTC - Results announced Potential board members should be able to commit to attending the monthly board meetings, which are conducted publicly via IRC (#spi on the OFTC network).
