You can also try using -usbdevice tablet but this behaves weird with multiple 
guest monitors.

Hmm, that is weird things should work as before. How are you starting qemu? I 
assume
you are starting it from the cmdline?

Make sure that the following is present on the qemu cmdline:
-device virtio-serial -device spicevmc,subtype=vdagent
