I don't see any reason for that (spicy, spicec and remote-viewer give me sound).

Did you check that your sound devices are free before launching your VM ? :

You can use the following commands for that:

lsof /dev/dsp*
lsof /dev/audio*

(no answer implies that your devices are available)
