The implication that an electronic supply store has better quality material is not correct. ALL and I mean ALL supply houses have material that just barely makes the grade as well as top of the line stuff.
For a permanent connection for wires you might as well as do what the military does for most military applications. It's called a "soldier sleeve" They come in different sizes, lengths, and temp ratings. Go to one of the national mfg. sites such as AMP, Panduit, Molex and the like and look at what they offer. Also you need to protect and connection after it's done (unless a solder sleeve is used) with a shrinkable sleeving. There are many varieties of sleeving, PVC, irradiated Poly, Teflon and the like. There is also sleeving with an adhesive linner inside that melts when heated to make a weatherproof connection. A cheap PVC squeezable connector is the EASY way out but also a EASY way to future problems. -----Original Message----- From: Douglas Braun & Nadia Papakonstantinou [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Monday, May 13, 2002 8:06 AM To: Richard Gosling; 'gary durham'; [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: RE: Oddities At 06:26 AM 5/13/02 , Richard Gosling wrote: /// [EMAIL PROTECTED] mailing list /// Send admin requests to [EMAIL PROTECTED] /// or try http://www.team.net/cgi-bin/majorcool /// Archives at http://www.team.net/archive /// Send list postings to [EMAIL PROTECTED] /// Edit your replies!
