Well, on what turned out to be way more job than I expected - the gearbox is
out of the car!  Nothing was as easy as it was supposed to be (isn't that
always how it goes!)  Richard Gosling, I had your instructions right in front
of me - you were right about the struggling to get it out and the busted
thumb!

Whoever thought to put allen-head bolts on the clutch should be shot!  I had
to drill two of them out.  Luckily I got the remained out of the flywheel and
the threads are good.  I MUST GET AND IMPACT WRENCH - that's for sure.  The
clutch was nearly gone - sure glad I ordered another.  So far I've only
cleaned of the gearbox and emptied the oil - first thing out looked like a
chunk of a split ring.

Parts come tomorrow - don't think we'll be driving the Spit to the club picnic
on Tuesday but I think I know what I'll do on the forth.
