Don't forget that the Spit is really, really light. If you look at the "max rated load" of your tires, you will find that the Spit loads them to only about 50% of that value.
The area of the contact patch of each tire is essentially the loading on the tire divided by the pressure. With low loading and high pressure, you will have very small contact patches, and skittish handling.
