Hi Kim -
I purchased my roll bar second hand, so I had no specific
instructions.
I did want to make sure the seats went back all the way, so I went to a
muffler/welding
shop and they cut & turned the particular roll bar I had so I could mount it
all the way
back in my spitfire, and still get my soft top on. It became a little tight
when I added the
padding kit from JC Whitney to the bar, but otherwise works fine.
The bad news (for me) is I bought a hard top last year but because
the roll bar
is so far back, the hard top won't go all the way on (rear mounting) without
modifying
again. I plan to pull all the padding off and have it "re-adjusted" one more
time to
accommodate the hard top as well as the soft top.
I also modified my tonneau cover to accommodate the roll bar & added
a zipper
on each side to wrap around it and snug it up. I think someone else on the
list had done
the same, it worked out really well and keeps the sun from burning & fading
the interior
so much when parked...

Subject: roll over bar?

Hi all,
I seriously thinking about installing a Rimmers'
roll-over bar in my 1500. Do any of you have any
experience with this? Are you happy with the
installation, problems etc? What I am also curious
about is how it attaches to the body/chassis and if it
restricts the movement of the soft top once installed?
If anybody has a picture to send to how it attaches,
that would be greatly appreciated!
Also, does the roll-over bar restrict the movement of
the seats?

Many thanks,
Kim Nystrom
