Hello Mark, I really planned on meeting you this year at the VTR, but never
had the opportunity
for some reason??
I was very disappointed that no other early Spitfires entered the Auto-cross
and they bumped
me into the up to 2,000cc class, but was pleased to receive the third place
trophy in this
class with my little 1147cc MK1.
This was my 9th VTR Autocross and I guess that I have a little more
experience than most??
It is so disappointing to see so few Spitfires and GT 6's at the VTR when we
have so many
more units on the road than any other Triumph model made. Just don't
understand why our
class will not show up to show our little tr's?? It's like they are afraid
of the big TR's???
After attending many shows across the country and Canada, I know there are
many beautiful
Spitfires and GT 6's out there, but for some reason they do not attend the
VTR shows??
VTR is changing, and they are beginning to recognize the small tr's were
made by Triumph!!
My little MK1 came home with three Trophies this year!! If you subscribe to
the Spitfire/GT 6
magazine, you may get to see them in the next issue??
To all you Spitfire and GT 6's owners, please consider joining VTR and bring
your car to
any VTR Convention and Show near enough for you to make it !!
Your car doesn't have to like new and all are welcome, plus I need some like
class competition
in the Auto-cross!!
Best Regards, Bill McDevitt
