Reading an old motor book - World Cars 1976 - I found reference to a marque
PAYKAN made in Iran.

It noted that it had optional Laycock overdrive. What are the chances of
those being the same as Spitfire overdrives? And what are the chances of
finding some of those in Middle East wrecking yards? ;-)

The PAYKAN had a 4 cyl 1725cc, 64 HP motor with 5 crankshaft bearings, Zenith
Stromberg 150 CD horizontal carb.

Also noted that a Leyland Triumph Chicane, of South Africa had an optional
Laycock-de-Normanville overdrive.

Interesting, hmmmm.
Cheers, Fred
