I have owned a hand full of cars and the worst thing I hate messing with, and is looked as being a very easy thing. What is it? Changing an oil gasket:) I just changed it a month ago and I looked under there the other day and had oil over the place. I know it's not British if it doesn't leak :) , but I would like to keep the smoke down. I have the oil leaking on the bottom part of the header, causing it to burn and then smoke..dam... Anyone have any tips on fixing this? I understand I want to clean the area good, put a bit of gasket sealer on it and not to put it back on too too tight. If anything I have a 1300 engine.
Can anyone let me know: Where is the best place to buy a oil pan gasket. What brand or type of gasket sealer I should use on it. Any other tips that can help out. PS Who invented this paper gasket? Ever heard of cork?
