I still think it's unscrupulous to establish a "buy it now" price that's
roughly five times the actual value of the item.  Now if you start the bidding
at or below the value, another ignorant bidders take it up to five times the
actual value, then hey!  All bets are off!

  I must say that the above statement is not quite right, its not the vendor
  that is at fault here, its the buyers. If the people that want to pay more
than
  the catalogue price for an item wish to do so then thats up to them. They
can
  pull out at any time they want.
