I've already destroyed two fuzzy seals for my door windows while attempting to install them. Anyone who has installed these will know what I'm talking about. The fuzzy seal has a crimped metal piece that runs along the lower edge, to which the clips are installed. The other side of the clips then grip the door sheetmetal on the inside of the window opening. The fuzzy strips must be cut to size before installation (no problem). The trouble I'm running into is that the metal strip along the bottom pulls away from the fuzzy material during my attempts at installation and cannot be re-attached. At least, I've found no way to do this. To date, I've been installing the clips to the seal first, then using a spare front suspension shim to try and pull up the clip (and the seal along with it) onto the door sheetmetal.
Should I install the clips to the door first, then try to push the seal down onto the clips? Is that where I've been making my mistake?
