Thanks for the info - I think my problems are half sorted with tightening up the bolts... but perhaps need to be tightened further... but I'll get new nyloc's first... even more scary was the way that the nuts on the propshaft were all worn away on one side - I shall take a photo when I get the chance - I cant think of anything that would do this... when I turned the propshaft it wasnt rubbing against anything... unless..... perhaps its the diff mountings that need checking - I shall have to check... if those bolts are anything like the ones on the driveshafts - well they probably need a tighten.... hmmm.... I think I'll get the ramps out tonight....
Well the 1500 litrally isn't going anywhere at the moment - Im yet to figure out a plan of attack - I was hoping to remove huge parts in one go - it's surprising how much will come off in one go - but that means that the car is going to have to loose its wheels - and that could be a pain.... still got to get rid of the tub.... I may keep the chassis and do it up for my future racing career... ;o)

James,
Unless the diff is locked, or a super limited-slip-type one, I would not be at all surprised if your wheels spin at different rates while off the ground - the chances that the drag from bearings and brake adjustment is absolutely identical on both sides is low! I would guess that your brakes are a little looser on one side or the other - I am amazed how often it is possible to tighten the brakes up if you try and do it regularly.
I guess loose nuts on the driveshaft could cause your knocking sound. Nyloc nuts, and lock washers, both loose their effectiveness if undone and done up several times, so I always try and use new ones whenever I dismantle anything.
As for spare 1500 bits, can't think of anything I need urgently (apart from a whole new tub ;) ), but I'll have a think about it.
