This is a very good repair page on the Ford tractor "proofmeter", better known to the rest of the world as a mechanical tachometer. It gives good information regarding how almost all mechanical tachometers work. I do not know of a Smith or Jeager specific tachometer repair web page. >>> Gary Roderick <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> 10/01/03 08:28AM >>> Does anyone know of a tachometer repair guide? I have a 66 Spit MK2 daily driver with Jeager gauges and the tachometer has started spinning up way past correct values. It now spends most of it's time laying against the zero from the wrong side. A good thump when it's warm will straighten it out for a while, but not long. Never seen this before. Does this sound like a repairable problem? Any thoughts anyone? ----------------------------------------------------- The information contained in this communication may be confidential, is intended only for the use of the recipient named above, and may be legally privileged.
